Cal Flame Grill Comparison — G Series vs. P Series vs. Convection

CAL FLAME BUILT-IN GRILL DECISION GUIDE

G Series. P Series. Convection.

Three grill lines, three price points, three build philosophies. How Cal Flame describes each — and how to choose.

Cal Flame splits their built-in grill lineup into three series. The differences come down to stainless steel grade, burner construction, and cooking technology. All three carry the Cal Flame ETL/CE certifications and are manufactured in Pomona, California.

The descriptions below are taken directly from Cal Flame's official product pages.

IN CAL FLAME'S OWN WORDS

Three lines, in three quotes.

ENTRY PREMIUM

G Series

“Constructed of 430-stainless steel, built with two-layer walls and feature Cal Flame's proprietary V-Grates, a temperature gauge, and porcelain-coated cast iron burners.”

Choose if: Smart entry into Cal Flame quality at the lowest price point. Great for compact patios and weekend grillers.

UPGRADED PREMIUM

P Series

“Crafted using 304-stainless steel and includes signature features such as cast stainless steel burners with independent igniter switches and V-patterned grates.”

Choose if: Want premium stainless construction without the convection price. Best for serious cooks who don't need convection technology.

FLAGSHIP

Convection

“Convection cooking uses high velocity fans to distribute hot air throughout the entire cavity of the grill when the grill hood is shut.”

Choose if: Want the top of the lineup. Better heat distribution, faster cook times, more even results. Home of the Top Gun flagship.

THE REAL DECISION FRAMEWORK

For most buyers, it comes down to three questions.

01   How often do you grill?
2–3 times/month → G Series fits. 1–2 times/week → P Series sweet spot. 3+ times/week or entertaining big groups → Convection.

02   How long do you want it to last?
430 stainless is durable but 304 stainless (P Series + Convection) holds up better in coastal/humid climates and ages slower.

03   What's the cook you'll do most?
Burgers and steaks → any series works. Large roasts, multi-zone cooking, rotisserie → Convection's even heat is a real upgrade.
