The Primo Story — America's Only Made-in-USA Ceramic Kamado, Hand-Cast in Tucker, Georgia

Brand Story · Made in USA

The Primo Story.

America's only made-in-USA ceramic kamado grill, hand-crafted in Tucker, Georgia. Patented oval firebox, 20-year ceramic guarantee, and the dual-zone cooking that broke the Big Green Egg monoculture.

Every other premium ceramic kamado on the US market is imported. Primo is the only one made here.

For decades, the ceramic-grill category meant one brand with one shape — a round egg from overseas. Primo took the category apart with two choices: build it in America, and give it an oval firebox instead of a round one.

The oval is why Primo exists. On a round kamado, every square inch of cooking surface is the same temperature. On Primo's oval, you can bank coals to one end and run true two-zone cooking — direct sear on one side, low-and-slow on the other, in one grill. It's the only ceramic kamado design that does this out of the box.

The manufacturing

Hand-cast ceramic, in Tucker, Georgia.

Not imported, not re-badged.

Primo ceramics are poured, fired, and glazed at a single facility in Tucker, Georgia. The company owns the molds, the materials, and the kiln time. That means consistent ceramic density (which drives heat retention) and a short supply chain. When ceramics are hand-cast domestically, QC catches cracks and inclusions at the source — not after they're imported and sold.

Why the ceramic matters.

Thicker, denser ceramic walls hold a target temperature for hours on a single load of charcoal. Primo's walls run thicker than most imported competitors, which translates to steadier low-and-slow smokes (150 to 300 degrees for 8+ hours) and better searing retention (700+ degrees). The glaze is lifetime; the body carries a 20-year ceramic guarantee.

The product line

Four sizes, one shape philosophy.

Primo Oval — Junior, Large, X-Large, Oval 400

All four sizes share the patented oval firebox. The Junior fits a balcony; the X-Large handles two full briskets or a whole pig. Each ships as an "All-In-One" package with the kamado head, cradle stand, heat deflector racks and plates, cast-iron firebox divider, and drip pan — everything to cook on day one.

What you can do on one: grill, smoke, roast, bake. The oval firebox + divider is why pizza, brisket, and reverse-sear steak all work on the same grill.

Fuel: charcoal only (lump recommended). Temperature range: 150°F to 700°F+. Made in Tucker, GA.

Why we chose Primo

The ceramic grill honest buyers end up on.

Ceramic kamados are a 20-year purchase. The decision usually comes down to Primo vs. the imported competition. We carry Primo because the manufacturing is honest, the warranty is longest in the category, and the oval firebox genuinely changes how the grill cooks — not a marketing feature, a geometry one.
