Cal Flame vs Lion vs Blaze — An Authorized Dealer's Honest Comparison for 2026

Dealer Comparison 2026

Cal Flame vs Lion vs Blaze.

An honest side-by-side from a dealer who's authorized for one of these brands and will tell you where the other two win. If you're deciding between the three, this is the breakdown you won't get on a brand's own site.

We're an authorized Cal Flame dealer. We are not Lion or Blaze dealers. That matters for one thing: our pricing on Cal Flame is MAP-protected authorized dealer pricing, our opinion on Lion and Blaze is independent, and we'll tell you honestly when one of them is the better fit.

Three brands that keep coming up in the same conversation. Each one is built for a different buyer. Here's how they actually stack up on the things that matter: warranty, origin, price, and whether you're buying a grill or a kitchen.

When each one wins

The honest buy-tree.

Cal Flame wins if:

— You want one SKU, one shipment, one warranty call for the whole kitchen.

— The project is a backyard build and the stone-island work isn't something you want to coordinate separately.

— US manufacturing matters.

— You value a 10-year structure warranty on the island itself, not just the grill head.

Lion wins if:

— You're (or your contractor is) building a custom stone or masonry island and just want to drop in the best grill head.

— Lifetime warranty on burners is non-negotiable.

— You want 304 stainless construction at a premium price point without the full island commitment.

— You already have a contractor doing the island build and need a grill that matches their timeline.

Blaze wins if:

— Budget is the hardest constraint and you want American-designed with lifetime construction coverage under $2,000.

— You're an experienced builder DIY-ing a stone island on a budget.

— You accept that burner warranty (3 years) is shorter than the other two, in exchange for the lowest entry price.

The question nobody asks until it matters

Who you call when something breaks.

In year 3, when a burner fails, you want one phone number. If your island is Cal Flame with a Cal Flame grill, that's one call. If your island is a custom stone build with a Lion grill head and a Blaze side burner because it was cheaper, that's three warranty paths and three brands blaming each other.

We've seen enough mixed-brand builds to say: pick one brand ecosystem per project unless the budget or design forces otherwise. The $500 you save mixing brands rarely survives the first warranty claim.

Still deciding?

We'll spec your build before you order.

Send us your patio dimensions and your budget. We'll come back with the Cal Flame configuration that fits — and if your project is better served by Lion or Blaze, we'll say so and point you to a reputable authorized dealer. We'd rather lose the sale than sell you the wrong brand.
